This is a brand new music style post that I have been putting off posting, as my vinyl collection is yet to grow bigger and bigger. Although, I have no inspiration right now nor do I have any interesting things to say, so this will do.

I first got a record player back in December 2014. I had wanted one for quite some time but never felt committed to buying one. Then my sister got one and I was jealous, so that is when I knew I needed my own. I decided to get a lightwood Steepletone as it looked slightly 60s and I wanted it to look authentic. It came and it was broke - then I got a new one delivered, in which that also broke. Basically - don't get a Steepletone.

I was so angry because I was desperate to play my One Step Beyond - Madness vinyl so I ordered a navy blue Crosley (my sister has a Crosley and it isn't bad) and this is the record player I still currently use. I cannot fault it, it plays good and looks good too.

The new trend of the moment right now is patches and stickers. Skinnydip are offering some really cool variations lately and it got me thinking that I could patch my old denim jacket that I was initially going to throw away. These patches I am using are from eBay and they are such good quality. I only have two patches here but I am fussy and I'm going to wait and find the perfect patches to add to the jacket.

This DIY is really easy, and to create the look you will need:

• Denim jacket, or what ever your'e choosing to patch. (Note that you must not use leather or any material that will burn)
• Your patches of choice
• Iron
• Ironing board/suitable surface for ironing

Ok so I use Spotify (free version, but iPad has premium for some reason - take advantage) and I use Spotify to listen to music that is new say like on the alternative/indie charts so I can listen to new music. I also use it as a way to get out all my guilty pleasures too. And after listening to a few female grunge playlists, all the albums I have listened to this month have been from that genre. Some of these are bands I've never really bothered to listen to, and some I'd forgotten about and rediscovered.

1. L7 - Smell The Magic



A band I've only recently just discovered. They are so good. I'm really enjoying this album and their others too. Just listen to them and you'll like them too. Favourite songs: 'Fast and Frightening', 'American Society'. 


2. Sonic Youth - Goo



Not completely a girl band BUT I love love love Sonic Youth, and this album I can't get enough of, I even have it printed onto a tote bag. It's a perfect album and Sonic Youth are a cool band. Favourite Songs: 'Kool Thing', 'Mary-Christ'. 'Dirty Boots'.


3. 7 Year Bitch - Sick'em



I discovered this band thanks to Spotify, and I'm so glad I did. They are very -me- and I'd had no idea there were so many women heavy grunge bands in the 90s, and I'm very happy about this. The album is actually really good. Some songs are a little 'samey' but in general it's cool! Favourite Songs: 'Knot', 'Gun'.


4. Babes In Toyland - Nemesisters



I had heard of this band, and I've only briefly heard a few songs. After seeing them on Spotify I thought it was time I took a proper listen. They are a really good band, they are more of a heavier sound and each song on this album sounds very different. An all female band is something I love and it's even better to see alongside all the men creating sick music. Favourite Songs: 'Hello', 'Sweet '69', '22'.

This post is mainly to focus on something that wouldn't be seen as important to others, but to me it has really stuck out to me for a very long time. I grew up playing the Tomb Raider games and Tomb Raider was always my favourite to play over any other game. I felt like because she was a female, I was playing somebody more relatable. She is thin, has brown hair, British, and this excited me, it still does. It almost felt like I was playing myself (yes I was only a child, but you get it).

It's literally a day since Kim K posted her nude selfie to Twitter, and obviously people have gone fucking mental.

Firstly, I just want to say something that needs to be said in regards to nudes in general: DO WHAT EVER THE FUCK YOU WANT.

I've been on all social media platforms seeing reactions to her selfie everywhere, with both mixed opinions. My Facebook news-feed was one in particular that caught my eye and I can honestly say I was shocked to see how many people actually care what a woman chooses to do with her life. "Slag" and "she should be sterilised" were just a few words from one in particular Facebook user. Obviously this girl is a major idiot and her words are actually gross and incredibly misogynistic.

A few men on Twitter have also expressed their disgust. Ironically a few of those men are half naked in their Twitter pictures but that's "clearly not the same" because "it's fine for a man to be naked" UGH.

Not to mention celebrities (men and women) sticking their noses in and saying stupid stuff just for retweets and likes. People are claiming that because Kim chose to take this nude selfie (in which you can't even see anything may I add) she is challenging feminism and is making a mockery of it, Kim is an example of feminism itself. And are we seriously going back to women being objectified and called 'sluts' just for being body confident?

Should the fact she has children matter? Should the fact she is married matter? What do you REALLY expect from Kim Kardashian? It's like people don't want women to feel confident with their bodies and show it off. Just because being nude is associated with sex does not mean she deserves to be slut shamed. Nor should the fact women have sex make them a 'slut' - that's a completely different blog post, but yeah.

In my opinion the men are pissed because it's a woman showing her body and of course it's only right when men ASK for nudes off women, duh (ugh) And the 'feminist' women complaining, are just jealous. Let's not forget Kim Kardashian overcame feminism and is a successful business woman, if you're seriously offended by this picture, then question if you're really a feminist at all.
