DIY: Patched Denim Jacket

10:48

The new trend of the moment right now is patches and stickers. Skinnydip are offering some really cool variations lately and it got me thinking that I could patch my old denim jacket that I was initially going to throw away. These patches I am using are from eBay and they are such good quality. I only have two patches here but I am fussy and I'm going to wait and find the perfect patches to add to the jacket.

This DIY is really easy, and to create the look you will need:

  • Denim jacket, or what ever your'e choosing to patch. (Note that you must not use leather or any material that will burn)
  • Your patches of choice
  • Iron
  • Ironing board/suitable surface for ironing

The steps to ironing on your patches are common sense. I am going to insert pictures below of the process just for you to see how I have done it, the way I've layed out the patches and the right setting for your iron etc.

Step 1: Get you denim jacket/material out ready.

Step 2: Heat up the iron. You want it on the cotton setting.

Step 3: Place your patch in your desired area, this is important to have it exactly where you'd like it, as it's going to be properly stuck down with the heat.

Step 4: Once you have your place, gently press the heated iron against the patch, slowly move the iron up and down to ensure patch is stuck down to material. (If patch isn't fully pressed into material, go over again!)

Step 5: Repeat process!

Probably the most easiest DIY you can do and it's so on trend and fun.
