The Difference Between Feminists and Misogynists.

09:39

I've saw some blog posts and tweets lately that are from so-called  feminists slamming men. From all sorts about sexualisation of women, to rape. All these stating that men are the problem. As a feminist, this isn't feminism.

Not ALL men sexualise women and degrade them.
Not ALL men rape. And it certainly isn't just men who rape either.

And, I have saw plenty of 'feminists' that have that sly dig at women. "You can't grow body hair but I'm all for a woman being confident" "you're pretty but you can't have sex with more than one person" literally, wtf. I'm writing this post in response to what a FEMINIST is, and what a MISOGYNIST is. Please take note to this if you don't want to run the risk of sounding ignorant and/or uneducated.

Some feminists are seen as mysognynists, because they come across as "hating women" whilst defending men. In my opinion this is bullshit, and this is why people get the wrong idea of feminism and what it stands for. Just because I'm saying its not just men who can be -pervy- I'm instantly a woman hater. If all real feminist women hated women, wouldn't they hate themselves? You know, being a woman and all ~eye roll~.

You know when a girl uploads a picture of herself and you can clearly see her cleavage is in that picture, and her girl friend comments "boobs". Isn't that sexualising the girl? Boobs are boobs, yet are seen as sexual, and clearly not only to men. I used to believe that having boobs would mean I instantly couldn't show them or wear revealing clothes in fear I would be sexualised for having something I cannot control. But it certainly is not just men who do this. Even your mate is actually doing it, regardless of them having boobs or not.

Yes men can be rude and derogatory, for example on Twitter I saw a man tweet about the whole women football team thing being introduced to FIFA. He didn't take it so well and was a bastard admittedly. BUT, there were also plenty of women on Twitter too saying how it shouldn't be allowed, and one woman said it was a "man's sport". That woman had "feminist" in her Twitter bio. Says it all. And in no way here am I trying to be-little this woman, I just wish she'd grasp what an actual feminist is. You. Sound. Like. You. Hate. Women.

Would you tell your friend she couldn't go out dressed a certain way amid that she may go out "looking like a slut". I wouldn't. Because that's Misogynistic.

Would you tell a man he can't be a victim of rape if you call yourself a feminist?  Hmmm you're not a feminist if you would.

Overall, what I'm trying to say is, as a feminist I'm all for EQUALITY. This means sticking up for men ALONGSIDE women, and that does not make me hate women. It makes me a feminist. Learn the definitions, and learn to not be an arsehole if any of these examples apply to you.
